(OL15 0LG) Littleborough - Turvin Rd

Basically just a couple of car spaces in a deep layby off a country road. Absolutely no restrictions whatsoever, but probably only space for one large motorhome. No facilities at all, just amazing views over the water and across the moors - this is just about as high as you can get in the Pennines, it feels like the top of the world. Silent, pitch black, isolated, creepy - fantastic! A few cars during the night, but nothing much after about 11pm; nobody to bother you because there's nothing there. I'll say it again - for a roadside park-up it feels truly isolated. There's a great pub/restaurant 1/2 mile away on the 'main' road. Don't swim or canoe, strictly verboten and not considered safe AT ALL; loads of hiking trails but stick to them - bogs everywhere up here so stay safe. True wild moorland, all fresh air and a great night's sleep!
