Nice and secluded spot at the edge of the forest, but still relatively close to the village. Very quiet except for the occasional quad/buggy at the weekend (driving by way too fast). Although this was in October... if these are rented at the village, high season might be a different story. 4x4 isn't necessary, but there are a few short rocky sections so good ground clearance is preferable (motorhomes definitely refrain). It was no problem with an L2H2 4WD Sprinter in 2WD (height wasn't an issue either). The ground is relatively flat; it's quite irregular but if you park just right, you can get the vehicle almost perfectly flat without the need for levellers. ;) You can follow the Transilvanica hiking trail from here. Do take into account that there are BEARS in these forests: there is a sign right before this spot warning to "beware of bears after sunset". If you exercise common sense (staying inside the vehicle after dark, not leaving food outside, not sleeping with doors or windows open, etc.) this isn't a problem but it's still worth mentioning because some people might not be comfortable with that. 4G signal isn't amazing but it's quite acceptable. It's very doubtful this spot is reachable without 4x4 in winter. There is ZERO rubbish, so PLEASE, let's keep it this way.
