Big Bend National Park - River Road East

There are three official off-road parking spaces (Gravel Pit) here, which must be booked and paid for in advance at the Visitor Center. Apart from a bear-proof container, there is nothing else here. The parking spaces are only recommended for those with four-wheel drive and ground clearance. We have heard that vehicles regularly get stuck. The road here is a bit sandy and has some potholes, but it is absolutely doable (with a 4x4 Sprinter).
